How should I wash The Solace?
Machine wash cold with mild detergent on a delicate cycle. Detach the neck flap before washing. Tumble dry low or air dry.
Will the neck flap interfere with a backpack?
With a small daypack it sits comfortably under the straps. For larger backpacks with high collars, detaching the flap may be more comfortable on the trail.

Excellent sun protection. The brim is perfect length for shade. Very light weight and it features a great ventilation. It kept me cool and dry for almost 3 hours pushing through mid day heat. I honestly bought this UPF 50+ cap at the last minute before my 42K Sinhagad trail run, not expecting much from it. But after spending hours out on the trails, I'm really glad I did.
It was light, breathable, and never felt uncomfortable, even during the tougher sections of the run. More than anything, it kept the sun off my face, which made a noticeable difference over such a long distance.

Switched to The Solace after K-Top at the Khardungla Challenge, once the sun climbed higher and the real UV exposure at that altitude kicked in. The neck flap was a genuine save, covering the back of my neck and ears from UV rays that hit differently at that elevation. And the brim — really impressed with this — gave solid shade without ever feeling floppy or getting in the way while running. The hat is really good and it was one good reason I could finish the 4.5 hours run without feeling the heat of the mid morning sun. Moisture wicking capacity seems exceptional. I sweat a lot and the fabric really threw away all the moisture. That is a big plus. I'm glad I made a great choice in buying this product.
